Family Photo Session: Coral Gables Prado Entrance

I had such a great time photographing this family! We met at one of my favorite spots called the Coral Gables Prado Entrance. It’s not a very large area but I find that there are quite a few different spots to use that even spending an hour here you can get different backgrounds.

Their kids were a little shy at first, especially their son. But it wasn’t before long that he completely warmed up and was such a personality. Their daughter would look at me and give me a great gaze, peering directly at the camera.

After taking a few family portraits and some of just the kids together, we let them be. They loved running around and playing hide-and-seek. We ended the session with the parents playing with their kids, throwing them in the air and spinning them around. This equals pure joy on the kids faces, my favorite kind of photos.

If you are looking for a unique location with a mix of architecture and greenery (this place has great coral arches and decaying fountains that are still beautiful), this place would be it. It’s a great place for couples, maternity or family sessions. I also photographed one of my favorite sets of business portraits / business headshots at this spot. You can check out all the photo sessions I have taken at the Coral Gables Prado Entrance. The light is beautiful here in the late morning, a couple of hours after sunrise, or in the afternoon just a few hours before sunset.

Amanda Jane Daley is a Business Mentor for Health Coaches & Wellness Entrepreneurs. To quote from her website:

Known for her online marketing mastery (with 18 years of experience) Amanda has earned recognition by the world’s top advertising awards — and in just a few years, has built a high six-figure coaching business. As owner of the thriving Health Coaching practice ‘Fuel Urban Wellness’, Amanda now combines her health, wealth + business expertise to mentor other entrepreneurs and coaches achieve the same goals. Driven by a dream of shifting the way the world values health, Amanda has become the go-to expert for healthy entrepreneurs who desire a heart-fuelled business and a freedom-based lifestyle.

She wanted to have a meeting she was having with some clients documented. I met this ambitious and driven group of women in a hotel suite at the 1 Hotel & Homes South Beach. Besides for photographing Amanda in action, I also photographed each woman individually so they have some professional portraits for their websites and social media platforms.

We then headed to Plnthouse, a restaurant by chef Michael Kinney, which is located inside the hotel. The restaurant itself is beautiful. There is so much natural light streaming in and potted plants throughout give it a natural, environmental feel. (See a photo of Plnthouse.) It was a dream to photograph there (location is everything!) I took some portraits of Amanda that are some of my favorites from this session, and photographed the group as they continued their meeting.

If you want to see more of these inspiring health coaches, you can check out these links: Amanda Pickering’s website, instagram, and facebook account. Also check out Tatiana Amico’s website, facebook and instagram account. These health coaches are not only kind, easy-to-relate to women, they are also some pretty fierce women who I would highly recommend to help you get healthy and fit.

12 x 12 Leather Heirloom Album

I photographed this family two years in a row, and this is the second album I designed for them. So crazy about how it turned out. The album material feels soft and luxurious in your hands. It’s made from 100% Italian leather. This one is the “lipstick” color which is a vibrant and bold shade of red. It coordinates well with the outfits they wore and provides a nice contrast to the blue of the ocean.

These heirloom albums come in three sizes: 8″ x 8″, 10″ x 10″ and 12″ x 12″. You can choose between a linen or leather cover and a variety of different colors. This one is a 12″ x 12″ Leather Heirloom Album, however the actual spreads once you open the book is 12″ x 24″, allowing the photos to be a nice, large size. The total number of spreads is 13, so the number of pages is 26.

The album is handmade in the USA by artisans who take pride in what they do. They print the photos on archival photo paper and then adhere them on to a thick substrate. The final product is an heirloom flush mount album that with proper care will last for generations. These albums should always be stored flat in either it’s box or dust cover for added protection.

Whereas digital images have to be stored on online servers and as we all knew can stay there for years without so much as looking at them, albums are a tangible heirloom that you can actually pass down to your kids and grand-kids.
