Canvas Prints

Just wanted to share a photo of a recent canvas print I delivered to a client. The quality is really outstanding. What I love most about canvas prints is that they are lightweight and extremely easy to hang on the wall. Hammer a nail in and voila, you’re done.

The image is printed on canvas and then wrapped around a wooden frame for a three-dimensional look. The back of the canvas is finished with a wire for hanging.

The standard size is 1.5″ thick but you can order them in 3/4″ thick as well. If you are considering ordering canvas prints, measure your wall to see how much space you have to work with. Think about if you prefer one large canvas or a grouping of large and small ones.

If you prefer one large canvas, some good sizes are 16×24, 20×30, 24×36 and 30×40. These sizes will not crop the photo. Photos smaller than a 16×24 can get lost on a large wall (measure a piece of paper and tape it to your wall to get an idea of how much space it will take up).

For a canvas wall design (a grouping of different size canvases), I can create some designs for you based on the available wall space that you have. Just send me the width and height of your wall in inches and we can go from there. You can even take a photo of your wall (preferably straight on) and send it to me so I can digitally place the canvases on your wall so you can get an idea of what they will look like.

Backyard Wedding Ceremony in Palm Island, Miami Beach

I photographed this couple’s wedding in the privacy and comfort of their own backyard. There was just the wedding officiant, the couple and myself. In a matter of minutes they were married! I loved the quietness and intimacy of having a simple ceremony. It doesn’t take away from the emotional weight of the occasion, it just simplifies what it’s really all about – committing yourself to one individual.

The best part for me was having time to photograph the two of them after the ceremony. They are extremely kind people and extremely smitten and in-love with one another! Looking at the photos you can see the joy radiating from their faces. Capturing that emotion is a huge part of why I love photographing people, both couples and families.

Thinking of getting eloped? This site has “All the things you need to know about eloping“. While I don’t photograph most weddings (i.e. all day events 6+ hours long), I love photographing small, outdoor weddings or ceremonies (max 2 hours coverage) where it’s either just the two of you, or a small number of family and friends present.

Even if it is just the two of you with a minister, it’s still nice having the memory recorded for personal reasons. It’s probably one of the few times you’ll set aside time to photograph you and your partner together, and what better time to do that than on your wedding day 🙂

Miami Family and Wedding Photos at Sunrise in South Beach

This lovely family from Norrbotten, Sweden (now added to my bucket list 🙂 ) – contacted me about booking a photo session on the beach. They recently got married and wanted to wear their wedding clothes. I love what they wore, especially the addition of the flowers and floral headpieces. Their children were so sweet and friendly! What surprised me most was that they were willing to do every idea I threw at them. (The parents mentioned to me that they told them to behave beforehand ha!)

They are such an endearing, warm and kind family. Sunrise on the beach worked out really well. The sun was out, the beach was sparse, and the headbands helped keep the wind out of their faces. After spending some time by the water, we headed into the shade of the greenery. I got some really adorable photos of the children being super sweet together.

I adore the black and white family photo where they are all laughing and the individual portraits of each child. The youngest was suddenly in a giggly mood at the end of the session and was having so much fun hopping toward me. Hence the authentic smile in the last photo 🙂

This session took place at South Pointe Park at sunrise in South Beach, Florida. See all the photo sessions at South Pointe Park. You can also view a list of Miami photo locations on my site. Sunrise and before sunset are the best times for a photo session on the beach. You can see the time for sunrise and sunset in Miami on timeanddate.com/sun/usa/miami.
