Miami Beach Family Photography Session: South Pointe Park

I met this family for an extended photo shoot at South Pointe Park in Miami Beach. It was a warm and sunny day with scattered clouds. Their daughter was so friendly from the beginning. She made us all laugh throughout the whole photo shoot with her expressions and comments. She truly brings joy to everyone around her.

Her parents brought along her favorite book and she had the cutest expressions as she read it aloud! A guy who was walking by saw us taking pictures and asked if we wanted his dog to be part of some of the photos. Why not? The dog obediently listened and lay down next to her, while she laughed and patted him gently.

The light was perfectly golden when we headed to the beach. I adore the individual photos we got of her with each parent. At the very end, we went close to the water and she was ecstatic! She loved playing with the sand in the water, not caring whatsoever that her clothes were getting wet.

As the sun dipped closer to the horizon, we began to make our way off the beach. The grandparents had some food for the seagulls, and the last photo shows her giddy as can be with the birds flying around her.

For a Miami Beach Family Photography session, South Pointe Park offers the best of both worlds: a gorgeous beach and beautiful greenery. You can also see other locations in Miami for a photo shoot.

Family Photo Session: Coral Gables Prado Entrance

I had such a great time photographing this family! We met at one of my favorite spots called the Coral Gables Prado Entrance. It’s not a very large area but I find that there are quite a few different spots to use that even spending an hour here you can get different backgrounds.

Their kids were a little shy at first, especially their son. But it wasn’t before long that he completely warmed up and was such a personality. Their daughter would look at me and give me a great gaze, peering directly at the camera.

After taking a few family portraits and some of just the kids together, we let them be. They loved running around and playing hide-and-seek. We ended the session with the parents playing with their kids, throwing them in the air and spinning them around. This equals pure joy on the kids faces, my favorite kind of photos.

If you are looking for a unique location with a mix of architecture and greenery (this place has great coral arches and decaying fountains that are still beautiful), this place would be it. It’s a great place for couples, maternity or family sessions. I also photographed one of my favorite sets of business portraits / business headshots at this spot. You can check out all the photo sessions I have taken at the Coral Gables Prado Entrance. The light is beautiful here in the late morning, a couple of hours after sunrise, or in the afternoon just a few hours before sunset.

1 Years Old Birthday Photo Session: Coral Gables Prado Entrance

I met this super sweet family at the beautiful Coral Gables Prado Entrance for an afternoon session. We scheduled it exactly on her birthday, she turned 1! It was a bit of a crazy afternoon with it raining on and off, the sun would come out and then hide under the rain clouds. With a bit of luck, we managed a full hour with only a few rain drops and some beautiful light!

Their daughter was so friendly and adorable, I loved photographing all of her expressions! We started off with some family portraits, then let her explore on her own for a little while. Whenever she stood up, we cheered her on, as she is just starting to walk. Her birthday crown managed to stay on for a few seconds before she would take it off.

After playing with her mom and dad some more, I think we finally tired her out after one hour. She rested her head on her mom’s shoulder and was ready for a nap 🙂
