Family of Three Photography at South Pointe Park
It was a chilly, windy day in December. The air was crisp and cool, the kind of day you want to spend outdoors in Miami, relishing in one of the cooler months of the year. This family came down from Ontario, Canada, and still I don’t think they were expecting it to be as chilly as it was. They are obviously very much in love with their adorable little girl. She was initially all smiles, before she needed a little break to eat and rest. We then walked to the beach for photos against the rolling waves and cloudless blue sky. The baby was a trooper, but since the sand was cold, they bundled her up in the stroller so we could take just a few photos of the two of them together. Lucky for us there was a low tide and glassy reflection, and I just love the last one of the two of them laughing 🙂
This Family of Three Photography at South Pointe Park session took place in the afternoon before sunset. South Pointe is one of my favorite spots in Miami Beach. You can check out some other great locations in Miami for a photo shoot. South Pointe Park is located in South Beach, Florida. I’ve just recently discovered Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden as a great spot for photo sessions. The nice part about Fairchild is that it’s well-maintained and has a lot of variety of plants and greenery (if you love plants/nature you will love this place!). It’s also been pretty empty the few times I’ve been.
I met this family at Fairchild for a morning session with their adorable 4 month old baby. I was so amazed at how happy she was for almost the entire hour! They mentioned that they nap her often which explained why she was so animated and in a great mood for so long 🙂 They actually got married at Fairchild so they decided to return with their little one.
Even though they are new parents, they were so laid-back and easygoing during the session. I bet that’s where their baby gets it from! We explored part of the gardens but there’s no way you can cover the entire grounds in an hour! Still, there was plenty of variety in just one half of the gardens alone.
4 Tips to Prepare for a Baby Photo Session:
- Schedule the session when your baby is happiest (after nap, feeding, etc.)
- Bring a small blanket along for some sitting or crawling photos
- Make sure you have drinks and snacks for some breaks in middle, if needed
- Have an extra outfit or two on hand for the baby just in case!
If you are looking for a Miami Baby Photographer, I offer outdoor sessions or indoor sessions at home. Always, always, schedule the session around your baby – that means after they’ve napped and been fed. When your baby is happiest, everyone else will be too!
