Crandon Park Maternity Photography Sunset Beach Session

Crandon Park in Key Biscayne is a favorite spot of mine for photography. Photographing their maternity session here was a dream. She is 7.5 months pregnant, a perfect time to take photos (generally 7-8 months is a good time). We photographed by the palm trees and the ocean, and then at the very end they went into the water. Even though it was officially winter season, the water was still quite warm.

They left me this really sweet review after the session on Google:

Excellent photographer and great experience. She took our maternity photos, and they came out perfect. She made everything very easy and low stress. Highly recommended.

More and more often I’m hearing of women who are buying maternity dresses from Amazon! (this post is not sponsored lol). You can check out this maternity Pinterest board to see what couples have worn to get some outfit ideas.

Sunrise or sunset are both great times to photograph at the beach by Crandon Park. Check out all of the maternity photo sessions on the blog. You can also take a look at the Crandon Park and Key Biscayne photography sessions.

South Beach Maternity Photography Session

I loved working with this kind, warm couple to photograph their maternity session. For this session we met up at South Pointe Park for a beach session before sunset. I loved the lace dress she wore and his complimentary outfit of white + khaki. She had no qualms getting in the water for some gorgeous reflections. They’re expecting a baby girl and I’m really happy and excited for them!

Check out all of the maternity photo sessions on the blog. If you need help choosing a location, I compiled a list of some of my favorite spots in Miami for a photo session. If you need help deciding on what to wear to a maternity photo shoot, this maternity Pinterest board has some ideas to get you started. Contact me here to book a session or email me directly at info@tovaphotography.com.

Maternity sessions are best scheduled around 6-8 months of pregnancy or when you are very obviously showing but still comfortable to walk around for a little while (30 minutes-1 hour). For beach sessions, the best time is around sunrise or 1-2 hours before sunset. For shady locations, the timing is more flexible so late morning or early afternoon can work.

Miami Beach Botanical Garden Maternity Session

This couple came to Miami all the way from Dubai and I had such a blast photographing them! They have such a great sense of humor, in case you couldn’t tell from the photos 🙂 They wanted more of a tropical, green background so we met up at the Miami Beach Botanical Garden. It’s one of my favorite spots in South Beach if you want a little bit of peace and quiet in nature. While it’s quite small for a Botanical Garden, there’s still plenty of different backgrounds for photos. I love that they brought along a babies outfit along with a tiny pair of shoes.

This Miami Beach Botanical Garden Maternity Session took place in the early afternoon. You can take a look at all of the maternity photo sessions on the blog as well as other photo shoots at the Miami Beach Botanical Garden. As of April 2019, they are charging $50 an hour to photograph at the gardens. For ideas on what to wear. you can take a look at this Maternity Pinterest board. Maternity Sessions are best scheduled at around 6-8 months of pregnancy, when you are obviously showing. You don’t need to bring any props but feel free to do so. There are many great spots in Miami Beach for a maternity session. If you have a particular spot in mind, let me know. Otherwise I can suggest a nice spot based on which area of Miami you’re staying in, and whether you have a preference for greenery, the beach or both! You can wear one outfit for the whole session, or bring a change of outfits in middle for a different look. You can bring one casual outfit and one dressier, it’s up to you. If you prefer the beach, just keep in mind it can be a little windy there depending on the day. A towel and clean change of clothes for after the session (if you decide to put your feet in the water), as well as some water bottles to stay hydrated during the session is highly recommended!
