South Pointe Park Family Photography Session

This South Pointe Park Family Photography Session was pretty fantastic. They are obviously a very close family which always makes for great photos. They were also all super friendly and warm people i.e. we had a great vibe going 🙂 Brandon organized the family photo session and knew he wanted he wanted the photos to be at South Pointe Park. He also knew the spots he wanted to go to, so we spent the house making our way around South Pointe, one of my favorite places in South Beach.

We went on the pier overlooking the water, then made our way to the top of the hill. It’s a lovely spot overlooking the entire area: you can see the bay on your right hand side and the ocean in front of you. At just the right time, the sun came out with it’s fleeting golden light. We ended with some laughs, hugs and one last family photo.

Random side note: If you ever come to Miami, I definitely recommend check out the park and specifically, the South Pointe Park Pier. It was built several years ago and has a great view that makes you feel like you’re in middle of the ocean. If you’re feeling a little more adventurous, head out onto the adjacent rocky pier and climb the rocks where the fisherman are. At some point you’ll have to turn back where the rocks are slippery from crashing waves. Don’t go beyond where you feel comfortable!

This South Pointe Park Family Photography Session took place before sunset in South Beach. Check out all of the family photo sessions on the blog. South Beach Surprise Proposal Photographer: How it all went down. Read on 🙂

The plan: In advance Matt mailed me a bunch of fake dinner menu brochures from Joe’s Stone Crab (her favorite restaurant). Inside the “menu” was a collage of photos of the two of them from the years they’ve been together with a sweet personal message in the middle. On the bottom it said: Will You Marry Me?

The day of the shoot: At 4:30pm I casually went over to them as they were walking on the beach, handed her a menu and said “join us at Joe’s Stone tonight!”. She said thank you and I walked away from them. I quickly pulled out my camera and captured her reaction as she opened it and he went down on one knee. She was completely shocked and unsuspecting, and her reaction was priceless.

Their feedback after the session: (You can read it on google here.)
[Insert blushing emoji–so grateful for your extremely kind words, thank you Matt!]

I had worked with Tova in surprising my now fiancĂ© during my engagement. She was extremely professional, kind, and super talented. The pictures came out incredibly well and we can’t stop looking at them. I would absolutely recommend Tova to anyone looking for a photographer! I cannot stress enough how big Tova’s role was in the most important day of our lives and how far she exceeded our already high expectations! Tova, thank you SO SO much, our day couldn’t have been half as special with out you! WOULD GIVE 10 STARS IF I COULD!!!!!

So incredibly happy for these two!! You can see other surprise proposals on the blog. This South Beach surprise proposal photographer session took place on the beach by South Pointe Park. All of the couple photography sessions can be seen here. If you are looking for a South Beach surprise proposal photographer, fill out the contact form.

Miami Beach Friends Photo Session

How awesome are these two friends?! We had such a blast photographing at South Pointe Park. We started off with some portraits by the greenery. The sun was still intense but beautiful, illuminating their faces and highlighting their hair with a golden glow. We ventured to the water for more fun and adventurous photos. That headstand? They nailed it on the first shot. And then there was the 360 degree flip. Are you kidding me?? I can’t do a cartwheel or even touch my toes (seriously. I’m not flexible at all). I love the last shot where they ran into the ocean together, not caring that it’s winter in Miami (aka 80 degrees. Sorry.) and the water is definitely not 90 degrees anymore. Free spirits + adventurous is what this session was all about.

If you’re thinking of of having a Miami Beach friends photo session, you don’t have to bring anything along. But you can get creative and bring along some beach balls like these high school friends did. Or anything else you can think of. Celebrating a birthday in Miami Beach is so much more fun when you can have a professional take your photos for a full hour or two (the time goes by much faster than you think!). Here are other friends photo sessions in Miami. (I’ve taken so many more sessions of friends but the blog does get neglected from time to time… New Year’s resolution is to keep this blog updated for once.)
