Get In Touch
The plan: I would meet up with them for a photo shoot while they were traveling to Miami. We would photograph for a bit and then the cue for him to propose was to tell them: hold hands and look into each others eyes. Then he would get down on one knee and propose.
How it went down: We met up for a sunrise session around 7am in the morning. They were staying at the Kimpton Surfcomber Hotel so I met them in the lobby and we walked onto the beach behind the hotel. I photographed them in the beautiful glow of the rising sun. By the waters edge, I saw where the light was best and set up some poses there. Once I was sure it was a good spot, I gave him the cue! It worked perfectly and she was completely shocked!
We photographed on the beach for a little while longer and then took a few more photos by the Surfcomber hotel which has a beautiful path covered with vines. These two are such sweet people and I’m so happy for them!
Checkk out all of the surprise proposals on the blog. Looking to get engaged in Miami? There are so many great spots. The beach is always a beautiful spot and often the beach by your hotel might just be perfect so you don’t have to convince your partner to go somewhere else haha.
Other nice spots include Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, Cape Florida lighthouse in Key Biscayne and the quaint yet charming Miami Beach Botanical Garden. Some of these locations do require a photography permit fee to photograph.
