Vizcaya Surprise Proposal Photography
For this Vizcaya Surprise Proposal Photography session, he wanted me to approach them and say something like – Hey! I’m a student photographer. You guys look cute, can I take a photo? Beforehand we discussed a few different proposal spots that he liked best (We had a Plan A and Plan B, just in case). I arrived early and the plan was to text him which spot looked best for lighting. I was able to tell him “left” or “right” stairwell since Vizcaya has identical looking stairwells. He also sent me a photo beforehand so I knew who to look for and what they would be wearing.
The plan went well! I spotted them easily and then approached to ask. After taking a photo of them looking at the camera, I asked her to face a certain direction, at which point he went down on one knee, and then I had her turn around. It was so awesome capturing her reaction!
We then walked around to some of my favorite spots in the garden to capture an array of backdrops. The lighting was perfect and the day warm but beautiful. So happy for these two!
To book a Vizcaya Surprise Proposal Photography session, you can look over Vizcaya’s different photo permit options and see which one is best for you. You can reserve the permit online one month prior and put down a deposit. I then arrive early to pay for the permit balance (the cost is added to the invoice) and leave them your names. Once you arrive you can give them your names and say you already have tickets you purchased online.

It can get busy at certain times of the year, and on the weekends – just a heads up. If you want more privacy, you may want to consider their early access photo permit.
