I met this family from Norway at the beach by the Mare Azur Monte Carlo. They have a 4.5 year old and 5 month old baby. The oldest boy is so sweet with his baby brother. While supporting his brother on his lap, he made a heart with his hands – on his own, with no prompting. The baby was in a great mood with no shortage of smiles.

When I post photos from sessions portraying young families and children, I think about how they’ll change in the future and where life might take them. I have a copy of the photographer Maggie Silverstein’s book Double Take: Portraits Over Time, which shows children and families at different stages of their lives, taken years apart. They look back at old photos she took of them and remark on what they see of their former selves. It’s a nostalgic and beautiful study on the inevitable human condition: change.

See all of the family photo sessions on the blog. Take a look at all of the photography sessions near the Monte Carlo. Fill out the form on the Contact page to book a session or email [email protected]. I’d love to hear from you 🙂
