I photographed this family first in 2016 at South Pointe Park. This time around they wanted their photo session to be at the Ancient Spanish Monastery (St. Bernard de Clairvaux).

I can’t believe I’ve never photographed here before. The Monastery itself is beautiful as are the grounds. I love the light that filters through the arches. It’s also steeped in history. The original Monastery of St. Bernard de Clairvaux was actually built back in 1141 AD in Spain. In 1925 it was dismantled and brought to the United States. There’s more to the story which you can read about on their website.

There is a portrait fee to photograph at the Monastery. As of November 2021, they close on Mondays and Tuesdays.

You can read more about the Ancient Spanish Monastery here. The Monastery is located in North Miami and is actually reported to be the oldest European constructed building in the West.

Check out all of the family photo sessions on the blog. To book a session, fill out the contact form or email me directly at [email protected] . Be sure to check your spam folder as sometimes email responses end up there.
