Key Biscayne Extended Family Photography Session

They flew in from different parts of the world for this Key Biscayne Extended Family Photography Session. It was a family gathering for their beloved mother and grandmother’s 80th birthday. We started with photographs on the grounds of their condominium in Key Biscayne, and then we went to the beach for some remaining photos before sunset.

Pam mentioned to me before the session to capture all the “in-between moments”. Those turned out to be some of my favorite photos. A joke someone made and they all would start laughing; the daughter pulling away as her dad tries to kiss her cheek; the birthday woman and her husband, attempting their version of jumping on the beach with their hands raised in the air. They were definitely a fun-spirited group to say the least!

I might have mentioned if they wanted to pick up their mother/grandmother half-jokingly, then next thing I know, they’ve hoisted her in their arms and they can’t stop laughing.

And the sweetest photo? The matriarch and patriarch of the family looking at each other lovingly, their noses nearly touching, their arms wrapped around each other, with genuine smiles adorning their faces.

This Key Biscayne Extended Family Photography Session took place before sunset. See all the family photo sessions on the blog. Check out more photo shoots from Key Biscayne here.

She was the older sister with maternal instincts, holding her baby sister and protecting her. Him, the proud brother, adventurous and curious about his surroundings. The baby already obviously adores her older siblings. At the beginning stages of learning to walk, her mother holds her up so she can stand. She coos loudly and laughs.

We met at Bill Baggs State Park in Key Biscayne, at the historic Cape Florida Lighthouse. The setting sun highlighted the beach grass with palm trees adorning the landscape. It was a beautiful afternoon with this family. Can just imagine them all grown up in a decade from now…

I so loved photographing these two and their family on their wedding day! We met at Bill Baggs State Park, which is at the very end of Key Biscayne. It’s located close to the historic Cape Florida Lighthouse. Lisette mentioned to me that they were hoping to get a beautiful sunset for their ceremony.

I anxiously looked at the weather, which had been cloudy all day. I know from the past that the weather can change in a short time, so it’s best not to worry about it (still hard to do). As I drove from Miami Beach to Key Biscayne, the weather began to change. The clouds opened up to a beautiful blue sky, and the sun cast its bright light over the island.

it was a very small, intimate ceremony. They chose to wear jersey tops and casual bottoms – my kind of people! They are so down to earth, warmhearted and loving people. Since I arrived a bit early, I had the chance to photograph the girls – I adore the photos of them hugging! They are incredibly sweet and charming kids.

Once the wedding officiant arrived and the papers were signed, the ceremony began. It was a beautiful and emotional moment. We took advantage of the warm light from the setting sun, photographing the four of them just before the island would be engulfed in the blue cast of twilight.
