Top Best 5 Locations for Miami Engagement Photography
These are my 5 Top Locations for Miami Engagement Photography. All of these locations are within a 30 minute drive from Miami Beach or South Beach (without traffic). You can take a look at a more comprehensive list of Miami photography locations I created previously which includes 15 spots in Miami.
1. South Pointe Park in Miami Beach, Florida
It’s simply a beautiful spot and has everything I love about Miami: it has the beach, a ton of greenery, and beautiful light since there are no tall buildings that block the sun. It can get quite packed on the weekends so I always recommend a weekday session if possible, and if not, a sunrise session will ensure a much emptier beach.

2. Vizcaya Museum and Gardens in Miami, Florida
Vizcaya can arguably be #1 for an engagement session. It’s Italian renaissance-style gardens and architecture can leave you breathless. It’s definitely a dream location for me. Everywhere you look there’s another photo spot. It’s also located right on the bay which means you can get photos by the water as well. Vizcaya is a unique spot in Miami that is just perfect for an engagement session. There is a permit fee to photograph here.

3. Bill Baggs State Park in Key Biscayne, Florida
One of my favorite engagement sessions was taken here in the afternoon before sunset. It has the iconic historic lighthouse, a beautiful beach with rocks, and tall beach grass close to the water. It is about a 30 minute drive from Miami Beach / South Beach.

4. Matheson Hammock Park in Coral Gables, Florida
I have taken a lot of family sessions at Matheson, but I really think it would be a fantastic spot for an engagement session as well! Matheson is a large, peaceful park in the Coral Gables area (about a 30 minute drive from Miami Beach). It has several different sections: a forest area with a ton of large gorgeous trees; a narrow trail to walk or bike surrounded by mangroves; and a cute little beach that is by the bay – not the ocean – so it looks different than the typical beaches you see in Miami.
5. Coral Gables Prado Entrance in Coral Gables, Florida
This location would be great for a couple looking for a combination of greenery and a bit of urban. It’s a small spot by the entrance to Coral Gables with a very unique structure – it’s got archways, a fountain with some steps, and nice greenery. The light is gorgeous in the late morning. Since it’s a small place, it wouldn’t entail much walking at all. If you’d like to get an idea of what this place looks like, you can check this family session on the blog.
Runner-up:
Museum Park in Downtown Miami, Florida (next to the Perez Art Museum)
This would be a great place for an engagement session in Miami! For some reason it never has a lot of people, though after work there are a lot people that walk their dogs here 🙂 It has plenty of trees and greenery, and it is next to the bay so we can include the water and palm trees in the photos too. It’s also conveniently located just 15 minutes from South Beach.
