I loved photographing this family with their baby. They also included their beloved dog as you’ll see in some of the photos. We met up bright and early on Fisher Island for this session at 7:30am. it was a gorgeous December day in Miami. I know how fleeting this stage is and I love documenting families, witnessing their kids growing older all too quickly.

It’s important when scheduling a family photo session to book a time when your child is happiest. For kids it is often early in the morning when they’re young. If sunrise is way too early, consider a location that’s shadier, such as a park or even an indoor lifestyle session. For sessions with no shade such as a beach, generally around sunrise and before sunset is the best time for softer lighting. For this Fisher Island Family Photography session, I placed the family with the sun at an angle behind them for most of the photos so they wouldn’t squint. For the few photos they were in direct sun, I had them look at their baby so they wouldn’t be staring into the sun.
