Vizcaya Couple Photography Session

I met this really sweet couple from Montreal, Canada (my place of birth!) at the beautiful Vizcaya Museum and Gardens located in Miami, Florida. (Side story: as a kid, my family would take a road trip all the way from Miami to Montreal every summer to visit my grandparents. I have so many wonderful memories from there but haven’t been back in years. The first time I ever saw snow was in Montreal, and I was absolutely enamored as you can imagine coming from South Florida. Would love to go back one day!) The photo session was in celebration of his wife’s birthday. We went there in the morning on a weekday and we had the place mostly to ourselves which was nice. It can get really packed there on weekends, especially in the afternoon (although you can always find a beautiful background to photograph at). Its quite picturesque and I always love the opportunity to photograph there. I loved working with these two, the session went by super fast!

You can see all the photo sessions at Vizcaya here. They do charge a permit fee to photograph, but I think its a very worthwhile splurge! Do be aware though that the permit fee does not include entrance into the museum.

If you’re planning your own Vizcaya couple photography session, I suggest wearing elegant or casual-chic attire. If you choose to wear heels, you’ll probably want to bring along casual footwear for walking around from place to place. You can also bring along another pair of outfits to change into mid-session for a different look. If you tend to sweat a lot, consider wearing an absorbent undershirt and breathable clothing.
