This was my third post-quarantine job. I was excited to photograph a surprise proposal at the beautiful Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. They are currently only accepting 10 online reservations a day (but this can change any day).

I waited outside the Tea House for the two of them to walk by me. Once inside the Tea House, he got down on one knee. She was obviously excited and happy and eagerly wanted to see the ring. He put it on her finger and then he pointed out that I was there – she hadn’t noticed 🙂

We walked around different areas of the gardens, wanting to utilize Vizcaya’s unique architecture and design. It was hot outside but so worth it! I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of photographing at Vizcaya. If there is one benefit to these crazy times during the coronavirus pandemic, the gardens were pretty empty, especially for a weekend.

Vizcaya has temporarily suspended walk-in photo permits, but things are changing so quickly these days so be sure to familiarize yourself with their rules and opening times before going there.
