One early Saturday morning, I waited for this couple to arrive at the Tea House in Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. I spotted them from a distance as I sat on a bench just outside the Tea House (a structure located next to the water behind the museum). Elegantly dressed, they walked hand in hand, descending a few steps into the house. He got down on one knee, perfectly framed by the archway, and handed her a red rose. They kissed passionately and then he placed the ring on her finger. We spent the remainder of our time photographing in some other areas of the garden.

- South Pointe Park on the beach. Sunrise is a much quieter time. Sunset is beautiful too but the beach could be very busy depending on the time of year. Alternatives to the beach could be: the rocky pier (best at sunset), one of the rocks by the water, by the palm trees and water on the west side of the park. I always send photos and directions in advance so you’ll know where to go when you get there!
- Vizcaya Museum & Gardens: in the Tea House or on the second floor of the gardens there’s a beautiful structure that makes for a perfect place to propose in front of.
- Cape Florida Lighthouse in Key Biscayne near the beach. Early morning is the quietest time.
