Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden Surprise Proposal Photography

The plan: He initially planned on proposing at South Pointe Park, but after checking it out one afternoon he realized it might be too crowded for a weekend afternoon during COVID so he decided on proposing at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden instead. I suggested a proposal spot by one of the lakes and after taking a look around Fairchild, he decided on proposing at this lakefront.

About a week before the session, he purchased a photography permit from Fairchild so we were all set to go.

How it went down: He told her to get dressed up: they were going on a date. She had no idea though where he was taking her. I went to Fairchild a little early and was about 20 feet away from the lake. I saw them heading down to the lake and got into position to capture the moment. He went down on one knee and asked her to marry him… she said yes! He put the ring on her, they hugged and kissed and then raised their arms up in excitement – engaged!

The rest of the hour was an absolute dream photographing at Fairchild. It’s a really large garden and there are just so many areas to photograph at. I could easily spend two hours photographing there. I scouted the area before they got there so I had an idea of where I wanted to go. Working with these two was so fun! I found out they met each other on Hinge and they both liked each other from the beginning. Now just over one year later, they are soon to be husband and wife.
